Send us to World Youth Day in Poland!

 

I spend a lot of my time, energy and love in a youth apostolate here in Steubenville called Encounter. Click right here to see the many lovely things we do. Encounter. was begun by a missionary couple, Keith and Iwona Major.

 

We have an opportunity before us: World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow. The Majors have  planned a month-long pilgrimage in conjunction with the central WYD events that will immerse our people in a witness of the faith that is unique to Poland, which is Iwona's homeland.

But we have a simple need: Money!  The cost per pilgrim for a month-long pilgrimage will be around $2,500. The first significant expense will be our airfare, payable in September, which is around $1300 or $1400. Those of you who know Steubenville  realize we are not wealthy people here. This is why I am hoping to direct some of my fundraising efforts outside of our local area.

 

I'm praying and looking for several people who will help me this way: I will send you 10 CDs, and ask you to sell them for me in your area for $10 each. There is no expense to you at all, except your efforts to sell and to return the proceeds. If this fundraiser and all of our other efforts continnue to proceed well, my son and daughter and I will go! If by July 15 we discern that it is not feasible, I will be donating the money we have raised thus far to those from Encounter. who still need to raise funds.
